Every year on September 21, the world celebrates International Day of Peace as it observes 24 hours of non-violence and ceasefire. This year, the day is being celebrated amidst the coronavirus pandemic. The United Nations (UN) said that for this year, the theme for the International Day of Peace is “Shaping Peace Together”. The International Day of Peace was established by the United Nations General Assembly in 1981. In 2001, the UN General Assembly voted and declared it a day that supports non-violence and ceasefire.
United Nations Association of Mauritius with the collaboration of the office of The Office of the United Nations Resident coordinator of Mauritius and Seychelles in association with Sumputh Secondary school and The American Campus organised a half day seminar.
