WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY (WED) 6 JUNE22.

UNAMAURITIUS marked the WED22 with a clean-up campaign at Mare au Vacoas on 6th June22. It all started with heavy rain and cold. All volunteers were wet but keep the spirit of an ENVIRONMENTALIST to keep the WED as active as possible. However, we discovered at last how some picnickers having bad manners in throwing litters, plastic stuffs, and other wastes in the forest opposite the Mare aux Vacoas Reservoirs. Our volunteers had noticed the needs to fix few waste bins at the parking vis a vis the Reservoirs. UNAMAURITIUS team at the WED will send recommendations to the authorities to remediate some other important needs to assist the visitors, tourists and passing bye.

UNAMAURITIUS had its first outdoors activities after the outbreak of Covid-19 with WED22 at Mar aux Vacoas.

We are thankful to the Mayor of Vacoas Phoenix Municipal Council for assisting us in the transportation of the rubbish. Thank you, all volunteers who had marked the WED, at their respective site and the UNAMAURITIUS team at Mare aux Vacoas.
